8. What is a CPanel?

Cpanel is a short variant for Control panel. It boasts of an interface that is designed for hosting accounts. The aim is to allow users to easily control everything that is needed to implement an efficient and effective website solution. In other words, it’s a graphical platform for a set of automated tools which ease out the process of hosting a website.

A Cpanel is used in line with WebHost manager or WHM, where you can develop individual accounts, add domains to your server, manage hosting features and carry out basic system and control panel maintainance.

The cPanel also has a command line and API based access features that allow software vendors, web hosting providers and developers to automate standard administration processes.

Your web designer or developer will require control panel access to upload website files, create and manage databses, set up email etc
