9. What is landing page

Landing page is a place where your internet visitor lands. These visitors could arrive at your landing page or website through a link you might have posted online or as a result of a search engine marketing campaign. So, a landing page could be anything, from your website’s home page, inner page or a page created specifically for an Ad campaign. In many cases, when you do not want to make any changes to your website, and only need a specific page for an ad campaign, to connect with your visitors, you need to make a page, which in this case is called a Landing Page.

Landing page is a page where visitors arrive at after clicking on a link or an ad. Hence, landing pages should have a tailor made feel and should communicate with the visitor in the most effective manner. A landing page’s goal is to convince the visitors, that they are in the right place and thereby lead them to interact with you on a deeper level. Your chances to engage with the visitor will increase if your landing page has the right design, structure, language and a smart uncluttered colour palette. Well planned use of copy and images will help in putting across the message better and in a swifter manner. It must be remembered that call-to-action plays a very important role in landing pages.
